Heart Disease

The most common type of heart disease is coronary heart disease. It occurs when the coronary arteries become clogged with fatty deposits called plaque. Certain people may be at an increased risk of developing heart disease, including those who are overweight or obese, have diabetes, or smoke cigarettes. Although there is no cure for this condition, it can be controlled with lifestyle changes, medications, and cardiac rehabilitation.
